Getting to Havelock North, Hawke's Bay

It's easy to get to Havelock North in the centre of Hawke's Bay. The most popular way to travel to Havelock North is by car and this mode also gives you full flexibility for discovering every corner of the fascinating and abundant Hawke's Bay region.

From the North
The easy drive via the Napier-Taupo road enters the Hawke's Bay region via the beautiful Esk Valley, with its vineyards, lavender farm and hilltop views to the Pacific Ocean.

From Gisborne and Wairoa, journey through rural countryside to the coast. Stay on the expressway and follow large road signs to Havelock North.

For dramatic scenery, an increasingly popular option is to cut across from Taihape using the Gentle Annie Rd through the Kaweka Ranges.

From the South
Your choice is to drive on State Highway 50 through the charming central Hawke's Bay countryside or stay on the main route of State Highway 2 via Waipukurau and Waipawa.

On approaching the Hawke's Bay follow the large road sign directions to Havelock North.

Regular flights operate from North and South Island centres to Hawke's Bay Airport (a 20min drive from the airport to Cherry Grove Motel here in Havelock North). It's approximately a 1hr flight from Auckland or Wellington.
